We are very pleased to let you know that mending and resurfacing works to the tennis court will begin on Monday, 16 March 2026.
The initial phase of works is expected to take approximately two weeks, weather permitting. A further phase of works will be required around six weeks later, once the court has had time to properly settle.
Once the initial works are complete, we are hoping to reopen the court for bookings and play during the interim six-week period. We are currently confirming whether the line markings can be completed at that stage or whether the court in the interim will be available with temporary line markings. We will provide a further update closer to the time.
As part of these improvements, the existing carpet surface will be removed due to the extent of the levelling works required. The court will be finished with a painted surface in a two-tone green. We will monitor the court’s stability over time before considering reinstating a carpet surface in the future. We are also installing a brand-new net as part of the project.
We fully appreciate how important the surrounding gardens are to everyone. Please be assured that we will do our utmost to avoid any damage while carrying out these repairs. Our Head Gardener, Pavel, is fully involved in the planning and oversight of the works to ensure the grounds are carefully protected.
The court will be closed during the initial works, and residents with bookings over the coming weeks will receive a full refund.
This is a considerable investment in our community facilities, and we very much hope you will enjoy and appreciate the improved court once the works are complete.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we carry out these upgrades. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
